Refractive Surgery
Refractive surgery information
Why do we have a blurry vision in the first days after a PRK refractive surgery?
Whats the advantages and disadvatages of having refractive surgery to correct myopia?
Anything to correct astigmatism besides refractive surgery?
I started wearing glasses at age 5 due to near sightedness in both eyes. By around age 13 my eyes were perfect and I ceased wearing glasses. Over the next five years my right eye became very slightly near sighted again and my left eye became very far sighted it now has astigmatism. I'm wearing glasses again almost every day when before it was all day every day because about a year of using contact lenses bothered me. I don't understand why my left eye deteoriated, but even with my new glasses on I have blurry vision sometimes. Will it get better, or is eye surgery the only option in the future? Currently 20 years old.
I need an expert answer. Is photo-refractive surgery safe? Shall we get permanent cure from this surgery?
Question about refractive surgery?
my mom says that if your eyesight is worse that 6.00 then you cant get refractive surgery anymore, is that right?also, people say you have to have stabilized for 2yrs to get the surgery, does that mean youre going to have to stop watching tv, computer, and reading or is it that the eyes just stop getting worse?

ICL vs Lasik - Refractive Surgery?
Here is my situation I live in Atlanta, GA. I have been wearing glasses for the last 25 years since I was 8 years old . I love playing sports and swimming and my glasses have always been an issue. I have always wanted to get some treatment done but my number kept increasing. This year now I am 33 , my number stabilized and I started exploring options. I went to EmoryVision with Dr. Randleman and got my eyes examined for Lasik. My number is OD right Sph 8.00 cyl 100, Axis 002, Thinnest 527 um, pupil diameter 3.7 mmOS left Sph 8.25 cyl 075, Axis 050, Thinnest 537 um, pupil diameter 3.6 mmI have been told that I am a good candidate for Lasik. I don't have any other current issues with my eyes. EmoryVision used Custom guided lasik. Even though they have Artisan ICL option, they never mentioned about it. For a second opinion, I went to Woodhams Eye Clinic Saw Dr. Trevor Woodhams who checked my eyes and told me that my better option was getting ICL woodhams used Visian ICL . Dr. Woodhams kept emphasizing that ICL does not involve reshaping of the cornea, is reversible and the process has reduced risk. I became confused and started to do some research online. On the web most of the marketing material around ICL is quite positive till I came across this forum and found about Iridotomy issues. Need some guidance as to which treatment would be benefitial for me in my circumstances and if you know of a good doctor in Atlanta. Thanks.
