Can an MD not certified in ophthalmology write a perscription for eyeglasses?
Is this legal? Would it be honored? The doctor in question is board certified in Internal Medicine and Oncology, not Ophthalmology, but provided he knew how and had simply lost his original perscription from his ophthalmologist, could he write his own perscription for eyeglasses contacts?
How many incurable ophthalmology's diseases find in world and what are they?

If i go to college and major in ophthalmology?
Im now a junior in highschool and my grades are very poor. Im a C student who is about rank 150 220 in class. If i go to college and study this field, can i become a docter? Can i make something of myself in college and do something? If not what would a degree in this get me. what other jobs are out there that deal with eyes, besides being a eye docter surgeonya, im aware that i wont be accepted in to any great schools or even med school, However if i go to a normal college and major in optics what job awaits ?
What subjects do I need to take for ophthalmology?
At the moment I am taking biology design technology geography. I used to want to be an architect, but I don't think I am going to be good enough at it I am considering changing design to chemistry, in order to become an optometrist or and ophthalmologist. Would I need to take physics as well? Please please answer Thanks
Eyeball removal ophthalmology?
Ok, that may sounds disgusting but I wanna see how's the eye removed. Ok, I like watching eye surgeries and there are plenty on youtube and I've watched them. Does anyone have the link for a video about the surgery or for pictures with the eye removed out? Thanks in advice and sorry if I made you throw up

Ophthalmology and Optometry. The difference?
I'm trying to find a new eye doctor. I have this book thingy that my health care gave to me of all the local doctors. In the description, they have ophthalmology treatment of diseasesand disorders of the eye. Optometry stuff like a normal eye doctor but when I look to find the optometrysection, there was none, only ophthalmology. So I don't know if they are the same or what,or if I should call to make an appointment. Help please?

Has anyone worked finishing eyeglass lenses or Ophthalmology Tech?
I plan to go to school to be an ophthalmology technician but want an entry level position for some experience beforehand. I have NO experience in this field.I'm applying to a lab that finishes eyeglass lenses. Is it boring repetitive? Is there a lot of math involved? Would I learn useful skills for future positions as a tech? Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.To clarify, I'm not choosing between these jobs I'm trying to figure out if doing one job would help me in the future with the other job. Thanks
Ophthalmology - lens replacement?
My left eye, for driving lenses, has this prescription 3.75 sph, .75 cyl, 084 axis.The lasik center says both lasek and PRK can only make as much correction as I could expect from glasses. For the level of correction I need for 20 20 they need to replace the natural lens.1 How do you measure or quantify correction levels?2 Could the lasik PLUS glasses achieve the same level of correction without replacing the natural lens?I'm 59. I got a second evaluation.My left eye has always been " lazy" but apparently can be corrected to 20 30 with glasses.Partly as a precaution I would like it to be very close to 20 20. I don't mind using reading glasses or even driving glasses to give additional correction beyond Intralase lasik or lens replacement.One service quoted $5000 for lens replacement on the left eye and $1800 for Lasik on the right eye $6800.The other quoted two eyes, Intralase lasik, $3800.
