It does not cost more for laser eye surgery (LASIK) when you have astigmatism. Prices are generally set regardless of your prescription on a per eye basis. Prices do vary though depending on the region you live in as well as the facility you use. In my opinion, it is important if you are considering surgery on your eyes to make sure you are using a respectable Doctor and facility. As the saying goes cheaper isn't always better and sometimes you get what you pay for so be sure to choose wisely! |

It depends on the surgeon and it depends on if you are able to have it or not. |

Depends on where you live, actually. Here in New York City it's super pricey, around $4000. In other areas I have heard it is anywhere from $1500-$2300. Don't let them charge more for astigmatisms. Shouldn't make a difference. |

Why don't you just contact a laser eye surgery clinic and ask them for an evaluation? They should be willing to do this for free. |

I was curious about this before. i found out most places will give you a really low rate, then up it for prescription and astigmatism (even though almost everyone has astigmatism). you'll need to compare several clinics and ask around if they have a good reputation. i had originally found a site with a comparison of different laser surgeries and their prices, but i seem to have deleted the bookmark :-( here are a couple other sites with lots of information that should answer all your questions. |

No the price is pretty much the same no matter what your vision is. If your vision is really really bad or if you dont have enough eye tissue then they wont do the surgery. You want quality which means higher prices. Dont go to any hack offering low prices. Be skeptical of low prices. Good surgeons charge 4,000 to 6,000 (can get discount from insurance if you have it, possibly). |

Depnds on where & type of surgery.. prk is cheaper usually than lasik... india has very cheap prices... keep in mind you generally get what you pay for... prices can vary from $2200 to $5000 ( these are cheapest & most expensive i found in usa) ... i went for the more the more expensive doctor and then got prk because of thickness of cornea & concern about always having a flap with lasik, but total cost was $4500 although i got special discount off that due to unique circumstances..... for what it is worth i am 4 weeks out and now think i was crazy to not have done it years before even if i would have had to get a loan... zero pain throughout and awesome vision now but i did tons of research and went with great doctor who used allegreto machine... good luck & be careful with your choices on who messes with your eyes |
