Navy says sons eyes w/out contacts are below allowed,with contacts perfect,will they take him w/lasik surgery?
Son passed physical at MEPS,has college degree, score 96.Without his contacts Navy said it was below what was allowed. They tried for a waiver, it was denied. With contacts he has 20 20. Can't get a answer from Navy, if he were to get Lasik correction to 20 20 would he get in.

I have dry eyes because i wear contacts ,i'm 21 do you think i should do lasik surgery and is there any risks?
because i'm scared...but i hate myself in glasses and now i can't wear contacts all the time

laser surgery advanced a lot just by reading news and stuff and people seem to get it a lot. But still i dont trust them yet. i have very bad eyes i think im negative 7 or 32 20 or sometin or worse. Idk i never asked the docs but its bad. and i hear a lot of bad things about lasik surgery. my friends tell me there are terrible side effect. so what are the chances of getting a perfect lasik surgery?like no side effects, you dont go blind, its just a perfect surgery. also i heard a lot about the size of your pupil???that if your pupil is too small or too big or sometin. I mean i have no clue. im just 16 and im not a doctor. but my eyes are bad and i dont want to live the rest of my life with glasses or contacts. my fault for playing the damn game boy, freaking nintendo. its all their fault for inventing pokemon. and playing them in the car. i hear small hand held games and when ur in a moving vehicle the light outside the car is changing it and makes ur eyes focus real hard, when u stop playing u try and see again. your eyes have to focus even harder and idk i heard it makes ur eyes bad real quick. so yea, whats the chances of going blind? 25 %? side effects 85 %? perfect surgery 1 %?thankspsh, real doctors wouldnt waste their time online on yahoo answers. . . doubt i can get a for real answer...

Is there a cut off point on getting lasik eye surgery? My eye sight is at 7.5 and I have an astigmatism. I was wondering if I can recieve lasik surgery? Also, just wondering, if my eye doctor says they can't get my eye with the astigmatism exactly back to 20 20 with contact lenses does that mean I am legally blind in that one eye?

Can I do lasik eye surgery after i had already worn contact lens?
I asked my Dr. and he said it's ok to wear contact lens before u do lasik eye surgery. U can take off ur contact and wear glasses a month before the lasik. But the other Dr that my dad had known said u can't do the surgery after u wore contact lens?? I'm confusing cause I'm 15 now, and i want to do the surgery when I'm 21 years old. I also want to wear contact lens cause it's easier to play sports or activities. Somebody had worn contact lens and had done Lasik surgery before please share and help me. Thanks a lot.

and just wondering what to expect..the receptionist told me it can take about 2 hrs . also she said the eval cost 150...just wondering if insurance can pay for it..i forgot to ask and i have to wait until tomorrow to call back because theyre closed already..thx

how old do you have to be?and if your under 18 and you have parental permisson can you get it done?and does it really work?

Went to a local doc about getting lasik eye surgery and was told not a good candidate....contacts or not?
doc told me that I have mild dry eye...have had it for awhile now...I usually need to use rewetting drops but many times it doesn't help...I can go without the drops but I can tell my eyes are dry and they usually turn red in the evening...lasik eye surgeon told met that I should not get the surgery because I sees that I have mild dry eye, have a high prescription, and am getting too old for the surgery once you hit forty you will need reading glasses, etc. If I have dry eye now and can't get lasik eye surgery because of that, is it wise for me to get contacts? I would think my dry eye would cause a lot of discomfort when wearing contacts. I have heard of rostacea eye drops but I think that kind of medicine is meant to be used long term. Am I better off wearing glasses instead of getting contacts because dry eye and my astigmatism I know I can't wear disposables and would need hard contacts

Lasik, is my doctor lying to me?
I'm so incredibly upset. I had lasik 5 days ago. My right eye was great within a few hours, my left eye had to be redone because of a wrinkled flap. My doctor put a bandage contact on for two days and took it off yesterday but my vision is still horrible in my left eye. Everytime I try to ask a question he just tells me it'll " sort itself out" and I am sick and f cking tired of hearing that. I've never heard of anyone's eyes taking longer than 24 hours to become clear. Why is my left eye still so bad? Is he just placating me or is there really a chance that my eye is going to correct itself anytime soon? I've never heard of this happening, either your eyesight is good after 24 hours, or you need another procedure. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE tell me if it really is possible

Its been a month since i have done my LASIK ..but today morning i rubbed my left eye subconciously pls help?
i had 6 and 7 vison in my eyes ...i had farsightedness...so i did the lasik in india a month back...and i religioulsy using my drops..but still my eyesight is nit that clear its hazy, blurry and i experience halos at night ...so i rubbed my right eye when i just woke up from my sleep...and suddenly thought that the flap should heal ...so this is the forst time i did it...well its not paining or no water in myeyes though ..but did anybody rub there eyes ..i mean i did rub it in a circular motion...so so u think my flap must have got bad or something..pls help i dont have insurance too so its a big headache to go to a doc now..pls help and how long does it take for eyesight to stabilize..will iever see very clear gain...becoz the very next day od my surgery my eeyesight was perfect ..but later it started getting blurry ....

Hello All,I took lasik surgery 15 days back, now i got almost 95 % of my vision back...the problem i am facing now is when ever i see a light source i find glare or haloes around the light source...am very much worried about it.... So i want to know weather it will be permanent for rest of my life or it is temporary... Please please help me out....
