If I got corrective eye surgery, would it make things close up more blurry? Please read details...?
I am near sighted and have considered getting corrective eye surgery but worry because I like being able to see things well close up. For example, when I read or do things on the computer, I take my glasses off because my eyes focus better without glasses. I recently tried using contacts again but prefer glasses because when I try doing detail work its not convenient to remove my contacts and place them back on again when I'm through with whatever. So what I'm worried about is if I got corrective surgery my eye sight would be like permenantly having contacts the ability to see distances, but less able to focus on objects 4 inches in front of my face. Does anyone know?My second question related is this I understand that 20 20 is 'normal eyesight' and that 20 10 is even better for those who can see distances better than average. Is there a similar test that shows the ability to see close up? I feel as though my ability to focus on items close up is better than the average.

Considering corrective eye surgery.what do I need to know?
heavily considering it.I wear glasses now because contacts didn't work well.for some reason every day I wore them I felt REALLY sick.I don't know or really care why I don't want contacts bc of the risks of them falling out etc.So what KIND of surgeries are there and what do the cost,and what is the healing time process etc.PLEASE help I am clueless about this subject and just want to have good eyesight for my 18th birthday this month on the 31st.I live in Kentucky btw and I doubt I can go outside tne state for it.Somewhere around louisville is the best and probably more likely. thank you.also I am a major scaredy cat especially about pain or anything I am awake during.I don't want nightmares 'I don't see how waiting 2 years is such a big deal and I am pretty confident I won't go blind within those 2 years.It really means a LOT to me to be able to see good on my own without the need of 2 stupid pieces of glass.So PLEASE tell me about it more.That doesn't mean telling me to put up with this weakness for 2 more years or more.oh yeah I forgot to mention my vision problem is I can't see FAR...it has to be right in front of my face though...less than a foot basically.I REALLY don't want to have to have real surgery where they CUT.

Each of my eyes are past 20 400. Would corrective surgery help get it to around 20 30 or better?
