Lasik
Lasik information
Went to a local doc about getting lasik eye surgery and was told not a good candidate....contacts or not?
doc told me that I have mild dry eye...have had it for awhile now...I usually need to use rewetting drops but many times it doesn't help...I can go without the drops but I can tell my eyes are dry and they usually turn red in the evening...lasik eye surgeon told met that I should not get the surgery because I sees that I have mild dry eye, have a high prescription, and am getting too old for the surgery once you hit forty you will need reading glasses, etc. If I have dry eye now and can't get lasik eye surgery because of that, is it wise for me to get contacts? I would think my dry eye would cause a lot of discomfort when wearing contacts. I have heard of rostacea eye drops but I think that kind of medicine is meant to be used long term. Am I better off wearing glasses instead of getting contacts because dry eye and my astigmatism I know I can't wear disposables and would need hard contacts
Can I do lasik eye surgery after i had already worn contact lens?
I asked my Dr. and he said it's ok to wear contact lens before u do lasik eye surgery. U can take off ur contact and wear glasses a month before the lasik. But the other Dr that my dad had known said u can't do the surgery after u wore contact lens?? I'm confusing cause I'm 15 now, and i want to do the surgery when I'm 21 years old. I also want to wear contact lens cause it's easier to play sports or activities. Somebody had worn contact lens and had done Lasik surgery before please share and help me. Thanks a lot.
I'm considering lasik surgery. What do I need to know?
I'm turning 18 in April. I've worn glasses since I was 6 I got contacts around 12 or 13. My contacts are currently at 6.5 and 7, though I feel that I may need a stronger perscription. It's really annoying to have to worry about glasses and contacts, and I'm seriously considering Lasik surgery in the near future. I haven't done too much research on the subject yet because I've just come to the decision that I want to have this procedure done. I have an appointment to see an eye doctor for a general check up and new glasses in a few weeks and I plan on asking him about Lasik surgery, but here are some questions that I would like to have answered before I see him Am I at the right age to get the surgery? Or should I wait a few years?Do many insurance companies cover such procedures? What are the risks? What are my chances of having the procedure and it not improving my eyesight? Are there any other side effects from the procedure? What exactly do they do during the procedure? If there's any other information you think is necessary to add, that would be great.Thank you
How long does the dry eyes last after lasik surgery?
I went to my post opp appointment a week after the surgery and I got my eyes tested. My vision was still blurry and I took all my drops. They told me the reason my vision is still blurry is because I have extremly dry eyes. Can that be true?
Has anyone gotten lasik done at Loden Lasik in the Nashville, TN area?
How much did it cost? What procedure did you have done? Any regrets?
Had lasik, one eye still blurry though?
I had Lasik two days ago, my right eye was 20 20 by evening but my left had to be redone the next day due to a wrinkled flap. The doctor then put a " bandage contact" on my left eye. My vision seems to be pretty consistantly blurry and it hasn't improved within the last 24 hours. Has this happened to anyone else? Not quite sure what the contact lens does other than keep the flap down?
I want to get lasik eye surgery, but is it too risky for me?
oh boy i don't even know where to start... well im 15 years old and i have a what you would call a VERY rare case with my eyes. ok for starers, i was born with a cataract in the left eye, had surgery to remove it shortly after i was born. then the doctors found out they forgot to re attach the retina. splendid so that led to more complications. so basically, i have close to no vision in my left eye as well as glaucoma now so it may just go blind they say. now my right eye on the other hand is in tip top shape, except that it is VERY nearsighted. i wear eyeglasses just to correct the right eye. it is a very strong prescription im not sure what it is exactly. i know, i really should know it i was thinking about lasik eye surgery because i would love to have decent vision without having to depend on glasses. but i am not sure because the last thing i would want to do is risk ruining my good eye. does lasik surgery have risks to it? any advice would be much appreciated. many thanks

Lasik, is my doctor lying to me?
I'm so incredibly upset. I had lasik 5 days ago. My right eye was great within a few hours, my left eye had to be redone because of a wrinkled flap. My doctor put a bandage contact on for two days and took it off yesterday but my vision is still horrible in my left eye. Everytime I try to ask a question he just tells me it'll " sort itself out" and I am sick and f cking tired of hearing that. I've never heard of anyone's eyes taking longer than 24 hours to become clear. Why is my left eye still so bad? Is he just placating me or is there really a chance that my eye is going to correct itself anytime soon? I've never heard of this happening, either your eyesight is good after 24 hours, or you need another procedure. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE tell me if it really is possible
Lasik Eye Surgery! Help!?
I just got lasik done a week ago, and i know fluctuating is normal, but my left eye can see 20 20 and my right eye is starting to be fuzzy, only slightly better than it was before the surgery. When i went back for my post op visit the day after, both eyes were corrected to 20 15, and seem to have been effectively corrected. I have been using my prescribed eye drops as directed, and putting artificial tears in, too. Again, i know fluctuation is normal, but it's been two days now, and my right eye has not fluctuated again for better or for worse. If somebody has had this experience before, please help. thanks
